Meet the owner

This work began with one very good girl.

Mich and her dog

I live on 15 acres in the peaceful forest just west of Rockville, Virginia — in Maidens — surrounded by horse farms and quiet nature. It is the kind of place where days move slowly, porch light lingers, and the forest feels like part of the family.

The Farm Dog Co was inspired by losing my dog of 15 years. That sweet senior lady taught me more than I could ever imagine about the patience, dignity, and tenderness older dogs deserve. In her final days, I was able to give her sunbathing in the yard, slow and gentle walks along the pines, quiet porch mornings, the utmost comfort in daily routines, zero stairs, familiar smells, and all of her favorite foods. I want to give that same life to other dogs in need.

My husband built these custom rooms allowing my love for her to live on in caring for the timid ones, the older ones, and the slower ones — dogs who need calm, space, and someone who notices the little things.

My hands-on experience spans 20 years in shelters, grooming salons, veterinary clinics, and horse boarding barns. Through each of those roles, I learned to track individual allergies, specialized diets, necessary routines, and distinct personalities, all while managing an extreme sense of detail, schedules, and time management so that animal comfort always comes first.

This isn't just another kennel, its a place I wish existed for every senior, timid, or slower dog who needs a calmer place to land

Community Commitment

One room is always held for the ones who need it most.

My smallest room is intentionally reserved — never sold — for bottle babies and shelter recovery pets. It's how the farm gives back to the community that shaped this work.

I partner with local shelters and rescues to offer quiet, at-home recovery care for animals who need extra time, warmth, and one-on-one attention before they're ready for their next chapter.
